    Navigating US Regulation of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine

    David Vidal, JD the Vice Chair for software as a medical device regulation in the Center for Digital Health at Mayo Clinic, shares insights from his article appearing in an upcoming issue of MCP: DH, where he and the authors express the importance of AI regulation and oversight for digital innovation in health care. David concludes that the physicians voice can influence the future of AI in health care and their goal is to make it easier with a physician primer.

    Artificial Intelligence for Kidney Stone Spectra Analysis

    Patrick L. Day, MPH, a Senior Developer in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic, shares findings from his article appearing in an upcoming issue of MCP: DH, where he and the authors created, validated, and implemented an AI trained algorithm that accurately interprets FTIR generated kidney stone spectra within the clinical laboratory. Patrick concludes that an AI quality assurance check can help significantly reduce the number of incorrect laboratory results.
