Dr. Lopez-Jimenez is a Professor of Medicine at Mayo College of Medicine and Science and the Chair of the Division of Preventive Cardiology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He is the Co-Chair for the Advanced Healthcare Analytics workgroup and a Member of the Health Care Innovation Section Leadership Council, both part of the American College of Cardiology. He served as Chair of the Publications Committee for the Epidemiology and Prevention Council, for the American Heart Association. Dr. Lopez-Jimenez is the Co-Director of Artificial Intelligence in Cardiology at Mayo Clinic and Program Director for the first CME course in history focused on artificial intelligence in Cardiology, organized by Mayo Clinic since July of 2019.
Dr. Lopez-Jimenez completed his cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He trained in preventive cardiology at the VA Boston Healthcare System and Harvard Medical School, holds a Master of Science from the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health and an MBA degree from Augsburg University. Dr. Lopez-Jimenez has published more than 340 scientific articles, including numerous articles in artificial intelligence and digital health, and his scientific work has been cited more than 12,000 times.
